Short Stopmotion - For the crazy one of minister of the Ministry of Education who said the Korean people are dogs and pigs.

He was the one of minister of the Ministry of Education who said the Korean people are dogs and pigs.

And he also said, "The thing we have to do is only feeding them to make them don't die."

What a crazy! I don't understand how this kind of crazy guy can be a minister.

I used 3d printing pen, play-doh, and wire to make him.
and took a stop motion film.

I hope that the wounded lots of Korean will be comforted.

SHADOW LAMP - Dong Lak (Derek) Han

I have been working on shadow lamps lately and while I was looking at the lamp, It eventually makes me think of windows. Windows lead us to different spaces, and I think that it is quite interesting to make lamp as if it is a window.

The work starts with my sketch of the shape of thinking shadow and the design of a lamp. Then I found right light bulb; normally light bulbs make multiple shadows so I needed to find a one resource light bulb to make one shadow just like the sun. Next, I decide the size and what kind of light bulb I need to use because it will affect the lamp size and size of the object that makes the shadow.

After that, I used Rhino as a modeling tool, design the shadow object and the lamp. And then, made prototype model and assembly together. I remade the prototype model again and again until I satisfy with the result. Lastly, I made the actual lamp using a laser cutter.

Dong Lak (Derek) Han - Sewol ferry sculpture + Projection mapping

I made a pepakura Sewol Ferry in order to consolation the victims' family and reminding victims of it.

I used Madmapper and premiere pro as a tool.

I wanted to use Madmapper and Modul8 but I didn't have modul8.

Setting (at the view of projector)

and edit the video to project and mapping with Madmapper.

Sewol Ferry - Derek Han

I've worked with Sewol Ferry accident which took away 304 people's lives from their family.

My goal in this project is making a video that is about projection mapping on my pepakura Sewol Ferry in order to consolation the family who lost their family through this accident and making people memorize this accident.

I was so embarrassed because my pepakura model has a different direction unlike my intentions. The direction was opposite and my guess was that laser cutting has been reversed.
I needed to do it again.
For this time, I printed it smaller as a try.

A tear of Sewol Ferry - Pepakura - Derek Han

Through this project I want to make people think about Sewol Ferry Accident which is occurred in Korea.

The sinking of MV Sewol occurred on the morning of 16 April 2014 in Korea.

304 passengers and crew members died in the disaster.

Most of them was high school student.

Sad thing in this accident is that although all people inside of boat could be rescued after accident happended, Korean Goverment didn't try to rescue them at all.
